Small things that I'm thankful for

Yep, I'm one of those people who has made it a tradition to show on Facebook what I'm thankful for throughout the month of November. There are so many things in this world that are taken for granted as they are under appreciated by the masses. The more obvious items to be thankful for are the typical roof over your head, food on your plate, and a family to call your own. Some of us are even lucky enough to have a job that pays for the everyday items needed to keep up with the afore mentioned items.
Well, I did things a little differently this year. Yes, I'm thankful for every little thing that has happened in my life because those are the moments that changed who I am. Even the bad things have good affect when you look for silver linings. But this year I decided to mention the silly or superficial things plus a sprinkling of the customary items into my Facebook posts. The people who stalk (cough cough) I mean watch me there already know some of these items. The "trolls" should know all of them :-)
Okay, I'm thankful for my family but I'm specifically thankful for the love and laughter that I receive from my relationship with them. As you'll see to the left, a picture of my 14 year old son playing the part of Mr. Napkinhead (from the movie The Holiday) during his birthday dinner at Olive Garden earlier this month. Even the waitress took a pic as she smiled at his antics. How could you not love that? Don't answer anything negative because I'm biased about all things related to the work of art that is my son.
I'm also thankful for the time off that I'm about to get at work. I'm taking off the whole week of Thanksgiving, yea! I have warned my co-workers that I will not be answering there calls, no matter how desperate, nor will there be any emailing or texting. Yes, I'm that mean. Call me the Vacation Grinch cuz my heart isn't big enough to solve their problems as I sip adult beverages and write furiously.
I'm also thankful that I'll be back into my writing by then. I have a series that I'm writing and book two (of maybe 10) refuses to write itself as I work and attend college. My muse laughs at me when I try to "schedule" this special time during the holidays but I promised her that I'd give her my (mostly) undivided attention at that time. This is because I'm also very thankful for her mischievious ways as well. Who else is going to help me plot all those devious things that I do to my fictional friends?
I'll end this by giving thanks to my To Do Lists, my faith, and my support group as I head to another year of wonderful things that I'll be even more thankful for. None of what I do in my every day Super Woman kinda world could be accomplished without: Love, Laughter, God-given Talents and the time to worship them all.
