Dream Dates Destinations
/rō’mans/
Romance means something different to everyone of course. For me it would be sharing my top five dream date destinations with my sweet homebody-Bama-boy hubby. I love the feeling of exhilaration a new location brings when I set foot onto unknown paths and even more when my soul mate is with me!
Greece
Humans found this gem of an island 12,000 years ago and have kept their feet firmly planted ever since. It’s imperative for me to go there. Granted, I’ve only seen it through pictures and deliciously woven tails in books but something in my heart hears a call. It’s the past meets modern and this little southern belle wants to plan an entire month roaming the island, turning over stones and digging my toes into the sand while watching the sun slip into the ocean.
Have you seen the pictures coming out of this place? It’s like Willie Wonka, Mr. Magorium and Donald Trump’s brains and magic were spilled out onto this futuristic, mind-numbingly spectacular place. I doubt I would take time to relax and more than likely slip into some kind of over-stimulated psychotic state.

I’m kind of cheating here because I went to Paris for my honeymoon. We stayed a week but it wasn’t nearly enough. It’s everything you see in pictures and then some. It’s magic, it’s timeless, it’s haute couture—it’s forever a part of me.
Ireland
I have roots in Ireland--small and scraggly but roots none-the-less! There’s something about the south coast that pulls me to it. It’s rolling green hills, rugged mountainous prominences and quaint cottages just hit every romantic nerve I have. I’d like to image that everyone lives in cute little cottages with goats and perennial flowers, and know each other’s family history and just can’t wait to invite me over for dinner.
Here I go cheating again but I had to save the best for last. I’ve been to Austin and San Antonio but it feels like home every time. I’d like to think that some microscopic particle of me was once in Texas back in the days of cowboys and expansion. That would explain my pure love and adoration for a place I’ve only visited twice and desperately want to put roots down in!
These are my dream date destinations. Now I’d love to hear where you dream of going!

February 8, 2013 at 9:32 PMI lived in San Antonio for four and a half years and loved every minute. I was surprised how tiny the Alamo was, but what beautiful architecture! My favorite place in San Antonio is the River Walk...something about a tall glass of sweet tea and the glorious river a mere step away isa dream date just waiting to happen.

February 9, 2013 at 10:27 PM(Wow. I just sounded like Marsha Brady. Ha ha!)
I've been to Texas, but not your other destinations. My hubby and his twin brother are traveling to Ireland this month! How jealous am I? Very! Oh how I'd love to crash that brother trip... ;)
My #1 destination is Italy, though. The land of love. I've talked to hubby about the two of us going together and we plan to do that one day. The ultimate dream date.
I visited Italy with my daughter two years ago and will go again (with my sis) this October. I can't imagine visiting a more beautiful country this side of heaven.
I would love to go to Greece and to DUBAI!! Their ...everything... is over the top!
February 11, 2013 at 8:05 AMAnd Greece... ah, the bluest of blue oceans, the brightest white stucco, the reddest roses. The best thing about MamaMia was the location.
*ahem* Yes it was. You know it was. Be honest.
