Dreamy Dates
Many of my favorite dates with my Mr. Yummy include quiet nights at home eating artery-clogging goodies and watching movies. But there’s a traveling love-bug inside me yearning to visit this beautiful world. I’ve already gone on some dream dates but I could handle second helpings!| Hart Photography © |
ALL ROADS LEAD TO ROME
Oh how I love Italy!
I visited the Eternal City in 2011 (with my daughter) and hope to return again
and again. One day, Hubby and I plan to go on a dream date there, walking the
cobblestone streets, taking in centuries of history, and feasting on cuisine
sure to pad my padding. Italian wine, pasta, gelato, and pastries… What a
scrumptious date that will be!| Hart Photography © |
CALIFORNIA DREAMIN’
Hubs and I celebrated our twenty-fifth anniversary in Cali, and I want to go back. We saw the official Route 66 sign, shared
the most scrumpdillyicious meal at Finn McCool’s Irish Pub
in Santa Monica, trekked the redwood forests, Coit Tower, and roller-coaster-like streets of San Francisco. The grand finale: Glacier Point, overlooking the Yosemite Valley. Breathtaking. Lip-smacking,
tonsil-tickling yumminess happened there too. It put me on top of the world!![]() | |

THE LAND OF A THOUSAND WELCOMES
Wandering through the
beautiful land of Ireland, exploring castles, and breathing the hearty sea air
from the Cliffs of Moher…Oh my! How could a place so textured and beautiful be
any more romantic? How cool would it be to see Blarney Castle! I've no desire
to touch my lips to the actual stone though. I read the local boys pee on it at
the expense of tourists. Ew! No piss for me. I’d rather drink in Hubby’s kisses
and a Guinness.

THE GATHERING PLACE
Oahu, Hawaii is
another dream-already-come-true-date. Touring Kualoa Ranch, while ABC was
filming its final LOST episode and CBS was filming the Hawaii Five-O premiere
was fun! We visited Pearl Harbor, the Arizona Memorial, and even attended the
Pro Bowl! But I have to say my favorite moments in Oahu were watching the
sunset over North Shore. The heavenly light show got our tingle-makers going
full speed.![]() | |

AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER
Have you seen An Affair to
Remember, starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr? Such a dreamy story. Though the
couple’s plan to meet at the top of the Empire State Building was thwarted, the
whole idea of a romantic rendezvous 102 stories over the city still gives me
goose bumps. (Partly because I’m terrified of heights. heh.) I want to
experience the thrill of making it to the top of that iconic building and sucking face with hubster. I’ll pass on getting hit by a car though.
Hmm. It appears most of my dream date destinations fall within the U.S. I guess that goes to show you, no matter how wonderful the rest of the planet is, there’s no place like home. Except maybe Italy.
Where is your #1 Dream Date destination?

Chuck and I shared a kissed on top of the Empire State Building in 2003. It was raining and so windy and cold we only stayed a moment. I'm not usually afraid of heights, but with the wind, it did add a little adrenaline...or was that my hubby?:)
February 20, 2013 at 10:01 AMAdore those loving moments with your hubby. You are so lucky to have the opportunity to travel. I love the pics by Hart Photography!
February 20, 2013 at 12:49 PMItaly is my dream date destination, but it's quite a challenge for him to get a vacation. Besides, he won't fly...or go on a boat. Hm...okay, I'll settle for a beach--any beach in the good ol' USA.
I love the photos and these dates are indeed dreamy. )))Corset Hug(((

February 20, 2013 at 3:05 PMHow romantic! I'm INCREDIBLY afraid of heights - but I conquer that fear from time to time. I'd certainly do it for a kiss at the top. ;) No doubt my adrenals will surge!

February 20, 2013 at 3:13 PMThank you, sis! I'm glad you like the images. As you know, I enjoy taking photographs--especially country scenes. I do feel incredibly blessed with the opportunity to travel. Hubby working for an airline provides that advantage otherwise I'd have to win the lottery to go to all the places I dream of. ;)
I enjoy the beach, but I'm definitely a mountain kinda girl. I can see why you yearn for the beach though. NY is miserably FREEZING! lol
@Ginny
February 20, 2013 at 3:16 PMThank you, corsetiere! Taking pics during my travels is half the fun! Hubby thinks I'm crazy because my favorite things to capture are cows, fields, and barns. Go figure. Country gal through and through. ;)
Wow, another roundup of romantic rendezvouz! Awesomely done! And I love that food plays such a central role in your dream dates; makes me feel better about my cuisine-centered capers.

February 20, 2013 at 4:17 PMCuisine-centered-capers. Ahh... My hunger (obsession?) for alliteration has been sated today! *Happy Dance*
Food is a central part of my thoughts. LOL
I'm adding my dream dates to "the wish list" book you gave me! I can't express how much I love that book. :)
Great pics and travels! I've never been to the top of the Empire State Building, but we did go to the top of La Tour Eiffel. Couldn't see much though - it was a foggy day and we were in the clouds.
February 21, 2013 at 2:58 PMAnd it sways in the wind.
Needless to say, we spent a quick three minutes up there, took a shot - that you can't tell where we are due to all the white around us - and jumped back on the scary elevator.
Not even time enough for a kiss!
But we did have a cafe at the er.. cafe ... on the second level.

February 21, 2013 at 5:51 PMHAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAMELA! I hope you had a great one. :) Hey, your visit to the top of the Eiffel Tower may have been quick, and foggy, and windy, but I'm sure it was exciting! Like I mentioned, I'm afraid of heights, so the 'scary elevator' sounds pretty...uh...scary! Mmm coffee...my drink of choice. :)
:) Thank you Cheryl! I did.
